San Luis Obispo Wedding Planner takes on Bridgerton

As a San Luis Obispo wedding planner, I live for creating events that blend storytelling with stunning design. This year’s Annual Central Coast Wedding Industry Awards—The Rings—was a perfect example of that. Inspired by the elegance of the Regency era, we set out to celebrate our incredible wedding community with a night that was both grand and deeply meaningful. Held in a historic ballroom, the evening was full of enchanting moments, from jaw-dropping performances to beautifully styled vignettes that transported guests to another time. It was an incredible honor to design and plan an event that celebrated our thriving Central Coast wedding community.

A Historic Venue That Set the Stage

Choosing the right venue was key to bringing this Bridgerton-inspired vision to life, and the Paso Robles Inn provided the perfect setting. The evening began in the enchanting Secret Garden, where guests were welcomed by the soothing melodies of a live harpist, surrounded by lush greenery and a tranquil ambiance. From there, the celebration transitioned to the historic Grand Ballroom, a space with tall ceilings, rich wood detailing, and timeless charm that set the tone for a night of refined elegance.

Cascading greenery and candlelit vases lined the grand staircase, creating a dramatic entrance that immediately immersed guests in the evening’s romantic atmosphere. Inside the ballroom, soft hues of blush, gold, and blue carried the Bridgerton-inspired theme throughout the space. Tables were dressed in luxurious linens, accented with lush floral arrangements and glowing candelabras, while vintage lounge areas added warmth and sophistication. Each thoughtful detail came together to create a setting that was both cozy and grand, perfectly capturing the essence of the celebration.

Show-Stopping Entertainment

The performances were a standout element of the night, designed to fully immerse guests in the experience. Wandering vintage mirror performers, dressed in opulent gold velvet, created a whimsical and interactive touch as they moved gracefully through the crowd. For a truly unforgettable entrance, an aerialist chandelier performer greeted guests as they stepped into the ballroom. Dressed in an intricate pearl-adorned costume, she poured champagne with elegance and flair, setting the tone for an evening that felt both magical and grand.

Decadent Desserts and Regency Touches

No Regency-inspired event would be complete without a stunning dessert display, and The Rings Awards delivered in the most exquisite way. The dessert table was a feast for both the eyes and the palate, featuring macaron towers adorned with delicate flowers and silk ribbons, handcrafted marshmallows in shades of blue, intricately decorated cookies, and a variety of elegant pastries styled on ornate platters. Draped in an embroidered blush overlay and illuminated by glowing candlelight, the table exuded romance and refinement, making it one of the most photographed features of the evening and a true reflection of the event’s Bridgerton-inspired charm.

A Styled Shoot Full of Inspiration

One of the highlights of the evening was a beautifully curated styled shoot that brought the Bridgerton theme to life. Our bridal model looked breathtaking in a romantic off-the-shoulder gown from Epiphany Boutique, paired with delicate lace gloves and sparkling jewelry from B. Anthony. Her look was completed with pearl-embellished Jimmy Choo heels, adding a touch of timeless elegance.

Surrounded by vintage lounges and the soft glow of candlelight, the shoot embodied the romance and sophistication of the Regency era. Every detail, from the intricate jewelry to the cohesive blush and gold tones, tied together seamlessly, creating a scene that was both inspiring and unforgettable for guests and photographers alike.

When I was asked to lead the planning and design, I knew I wanted to highlight the incredible talent and collaboration that make our industry so special. One of the most rewarding parts of the evening was seeing the vision come to life through the hard work of our vendor community. From the breathtaking florals to the unforgettable performances, every detail was a testament to the collaboration and creativity of our wedding community.
